Abstract
ESTELA, FELIPE A.; DOUGLAS SILVA, JOHN and CASTILLO, LUIS FERNANDO. The American White Pelican (Pelecanus erythrorhynchus) in Colombia, with comments on the effects of Caribbean hurricanes. Caldasia [online]. 2005, vol.27, n.2, pp.271-275. ISSN 0366-5232.
We present a photographic record of the American White Pelican Pelecanus erythrorhynchus in a mangrove of San Andrés Island, Colombian Caribbean. This is the evidence to confirm this species in Colombia . Additionally, we discuss the possible effect of Caribbean hurricanes in this species' dispersion, and the effect that this kind of natural catastrophes could have in the conservation of San Andrés and Providencia Archipelago's avifauna.
