Resumen

SANCHEZ-N., DAVID  y  AMAT-GARCIA, GERMÁN D.. Diversity of terrestrial fauna of arthropoda at Jaboque wetland, Bogotá-Colombia. Caldasia [online]. 2005, vol.27, n.2, pp.311-329. ISSN 0366-5232.

In the Jaboque wetland, located within Bogotá´s urban perimeter, we studied the taxonomic and trophic composition, the richness and the diversity of arthropod fauna associated with five plant communities dominated by: Juncus effusus, Juncus effusus-Polygonum punctatum, Schoenoplectus californicus, Typha latifolia and Bidens laevis. These vegetation communities are important because their great coverage within the wetland and their successful establishment under low perturbation conditions. 212 morphospecies were identified distributed in 48 families and seven orders. This richness qualifies the high andean wetlands, submitted to low perturbations conditions as centers of high concentration of arthropods species. Along the study 8944 individuals were collected representing a dry biomass of 9757.8mg. The order Diptera and its families Ephydridae, Chironomidae and Muscidae outstand by its predominance in richness, abundance and biomass level. Within the vegetation communities considered we appreciate a variable arthropod fauna in composition, high diversity of morphospecies and complex trophic diversity. There were also found six types of distribution patterns. Arthropod fauna elements were identified (16 morphospecies) that possibly have reproduction inference to some plants of the wetland, because of its floral visitor behaviour. Plants of the Asteraceae family, with an entomophilous pollination estrategy and the Poaceae family with an anemophilous strategy presented the highest concentration of anthophilous insects.

Palabras clave : Arthropoda; arthropod communities; wetland; andean region; fauna of Colombia.
