Abstract

RUIZ, ANGÉLICA  and  VARELA, AMANDA. New reports of Aphyllophorales (Basidiomicota) in humid and cloudy montane forests from Colombia . Caldasia [online]. 2006, vol.28, n.2, pp.259-266. ISSN 0366-5232.

Aphyllophorales (Basidiomicota) are a group of fungi of particular importance in the maintenance of the structure and function of the forest ecosystems due to their saprophytic activity as wood decomposers. Studies about these organisms have been scarce and sporadic in Colombia ; only 262 species have been reported for the country. The present study was carried out in fragments of humid and cloudy montane forests in the southwestern area of the Bogotá Sabana. Eight species are reported as new to the country: Ceriporia viridans, Chaetoporellus curvisporus, Ganoderma amazonense, Hyphodontia lanata, Mycoacia uda, Microporellus obovatus, Oliveonia fibrillosa, Phellinus sancti-georgii.

Keywords : Aphyllophorales; Colombia; fungi; Neotropical.
