Abstract

The catalogue of the vascular plants of the upper Subachoque river basin (municipalities of Subachoque, El Rosal and Madrid, in the western Sabana de Bogotá), now includes reports of 155 families, 537 genera and 1008 species; of them, 834 wild (124 naturalized included) and 174 cultivated, is presented. This work was based on collections made in the region during a period of more than eigth years, complemented with previous collections from the área. The most diverse families of wild plants are Asteraceae (59 genera/115 species), Orchidaceae (24/78) and Poaceae (29/52). As new distribution records are included some native plantas recently reported from Colombia, such as Eubrachion ambiguum (Eremolepídaceae), Greigia albo-rosea (Bromeliaceae) and Festuca sodiroana, F. ulochaeta (Poaceae) and other adventitious plants not or rarely reported before from Colombia, such as the species of genus of Asteraceae (Cirsium, Crepis, Senecio, Sylibum), Campanulaceae (Triodanis), Caryophyllaceae (Sagina, Stellaria); Fabaceae (Medicago, Melilotus, Vicia) Iridaceae (Crocosmia, Gladiolus, Watsonia); Linaceae (Linum), Papaveraceae (Fumaria), Poaceae (Brachypodium, Briza, Polypogon, Vulpia); Polygonaceae (Persicaria, Polygonum), Scrophulariaceae (Nuttallanthus, Verbascum) y Urticaceae (Soleirolia). The commented list includes for each species information on habit, habitat, geographic range and origin and a voucher collection.
