We studied some morphometric characteristics and the reproductive stage of specimens of both sexes in a population of Anolis tolimensis from the Colombian Andes (Tena, Cundinamarca; 2250 m). Observations were done in a secondary forest, between rainy season (November 2004 and February 2005) and dry season (December 2004 and January 2005). We collected individuals during the day, manually or noose, between 8:00 to 18:00 hours. In the laboratory we measured and determined their reproductive status. We found that adult and juvenile females had a greater snout to vent length than males. The average minimal size of sexual maturity was 43.7 mm 46.4 mm for males and females respectively. The most common reproductive status in adult females were vitellogenic and ovigerous, the less frequent was ovigerous with two oviductal eggs. The ovo-retention condition in this population might be related to unfavorable environmental conditions. We did not find females in previtelogenic status. We also found that the males were sexually active in both sesaons and pregnant females or females with an oviductal egg in both sesaons. These observations indicate that A. tolimensis is active sexually throughout the year.
