Se describe e ilustra Xylophragma unifoliolatum (Bignoniaceae), única especie dentro del género con hojas unifolioladas. Esta especie nueva es conocida solamente de dos colecciones del bosque seco en la Provincia de Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
