Abstract
MARTINEZ-QUESADA, EDDY. Characterization of the vascular flora of San Felipe table-land, Camagüey province (Cuba), for conservation purposes. Caldasia [online]. 2010, vol.32, n.1, pp.87-111. ISSN 0366-5232.
For conservation purposes, the vascular flora of San Felipe table-land, an important locality within ophiolitic outcrup of Camagüey province was studied. A total of 585 infrageneric taxa were recorded, mainly of Magnoliophyta, 97 of which are endemism, most of them with a large distribution range; 19 species are new records, some of them with phytogeographic significance, for which Critically endangered (CR) category of provincial interest is proposed. These species, as well as those considered Critically endangered (CR) and Endangered (EN) are identified as priority conservation objects. The conservation of endemic and threatened flora on the table-land has to be in situ.
