Abstract

CARBONO-DELAHOZ, EDUINO  and  GARCIA-Q., HÉCTOR. Terrestrial vegetation at Neguanje cove, Tayrona National Natural Park (Magdalena, Colombia). Caldasia [online]. 2010, vol.32, n.2, pp.235-256. ISSN 0366-5232.

Floristic inventories were made from July to December 2007 in order to know the current state of the richness and vegetation structure in Neguanje cove at Tayrona National Natural Park. The methodology proposed by the Humboldt Institute to study woody plants was followed in three localities, for a total amount of 0.3 ha. A total of 1310 individuals with = 2.5 cm DBH, belonging to 77 species in 28 families of flowering plants were found during this inventory. For each of the three sampled sites, a total of 29 species (fifteen families), 49 (21 families) and 55 (24 families) were found for each 1 000 m². The plant families found with high ecological value are also common in others dry forests of Colombia but the species diversity are low in comparison to those areas. Intense and persistent winds stood out as an influencing factor over the floristic diversity found in the first site studied.

Keywords : Dry forests; Floristic diversity; Colombian Caribbean.
