Abstract

La fauna de hílidos en las tierras bajas de Colombia al oriente de los Andes consta de 72-73 especies (una identificada tentativamente), lo que representa casi el 40% de todas las especies de ranas de la región y un 10% de la fauna total de anuros del país. La mayoría de estas especies se reproducen en ambientes lénticos y pocas taxones lo hacen en quebradas lentas, huecos en troncos de árboles y fitotelmas. En este trabajo se ilustran los renacuajos de 41 especies, incluyendo ocho especies previamente desconocidas y tres nunca ilustradas.
