Abstract

A new species of Ericaceae (Vaccinieae) from the Colombian Valle del Cauca, Themistoclesia diazii, is here described, illustrated, and discussed. The new species has a peculiar floral morphology that has not previously been observed in the genus. The species is very rare and known only from patches of montane forest that surround tea plantations.
