ALVARO-A, Wilson Ricardo  e  URIBE-M, Jaime. Taxonomic revision of the genus Anastrophyllum (Marchantiophyta, Anastrophyllaceae) of Colombia. Caldasia [online]. 2017, vol.39, n.2, pp.269-291. ISSN 0366-5232.  https://doi.org/10.15446/caldasia.v39n2.63100.

Five species are recognized in the taxonomic study of the genus Anastrophyllum for Colombia: A. auritum, A. nigrescens, A. piligerum, A. stellatum and A. tubulosum. The genus Anastrophyllum is characterized by a reddish-brown to red-black, occasionally green, pigmentation; stems with a distinctive cortex and medulla; terminal branching of the Frullania, lateral branching of the Plagiochila-type and, ventral-intercalary branching of the Bazzania-type; leaves always bifid, concave, asymmetric; cells with inconspicuous or large to coarsely nodose trigones. Dioecious; perianth emergent, cylindrical, plicate, with a hyaline mouth. Anastrophyllum leptodictyon is synonimized to A. auritum. A key to species, based on gametophytic characters is provided and descriptions, illustrations and distribution maps are given for each species.
