Abstract

PINEROS-U., Liseth Paola  and  GONZALEZ, Favio. New species of Dalea (Leguminosae: Papilionoideae) from dry inter-Andean valleys of southern Colombia and a key to identify the species of the genus in the country. Caldasia [online]. 2019, vol.41, n.1, pp.215-223. ISSN 0366-5232.  https://doi.org/10.15446/caldasia.v41n1.75852.

Dalea wilsoni, a new species of the tribe Amorpheae (Leguminosae) from Colombia is described and illustrated. The new species grows in dry forests of Baraya (Huila) and the valley of Río Juanambú in Buesaco (Nariño). The new species is similar to D. carthagenensis, from which it differs by the absence of intrapetiolular glands (vs. presence of two intrapeciolular glands on the raquis), the acuminate bracts (vs. acuminate or caudate bracts), the calyx tube pilose or villose and ribs with dense pale indumenta, the intercostal areas with three to five large glands (vs. the calyx tube glabrous, with fine and short trichomes or pilose; when glabrous or with fine and short trichomes, with two to five glands on the intercostal areas, evident, vesicular, yellow; when pilose, the intercostal glands are small, masked by the indumenta), the dorsal calyx tooth longer than the tube (vs. the dorsal calyx tooth is equal or longer than the tube), the banner more than 5 mm long (vs. the banner less than 5 mm long), the wings inserted up 1.32 mm above the hypanthial rim (vs. the wings inserted less than 1.30 mm above the hypanthial rim). In addition, these two species differ by ten single substitutions in the ITS marker. A key to the species of the genus, included the new entity, is provided.

Keywords : Amorpheae; dry forests of Colombia; dry interandean valleys; Flora of Colombia; Flora of Huila; Flora of Nariño; molecular diagnosis.
