Abstract

CASTELLANOS, Cesar  and  LEWIS, G. P.. LEGUMINOSAS COLOMBIANAS DE LA SUBFAMILIA CAESALPINIOIDEAE PRESENTES EN EL HERBARIO DEL REAL JARDÍN BOTÁNICO DE KEW, REINO UNIDO. Rev. acad. colomb. cienc. exact. fis. nat. [online]. 2012, vol.36, n.139, pp.141-192. ISSN 0370-3908.

A review of the Colombian Leguminosae subfamily Caesalpinioideae deposited in the Herbarium of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (K), U.K. is presented. 532 specimens belonging to the tribes Cercideae, Detarieae, Caesalpinieae and Cassieae were studied. Tribes Detarieae and Caesalpinieae are most genus rich (with 13 and 14 genera respectively); the most speciose genus is Senna (35 spp.). A new combination is proposed, a lectotype is designated, and new records for Colombia are included. Historical collections and endemic taxa of Colombian Caesalpinioideae are discussed.

Keywords : Caesalpinioideae; Colombia; historical collection; Kew.
