Abstract

FORTE, Gustavo; TEBALDI, Myrian  and  BOLOGNINI, Nestor. Features of the Lau effect by using a photorefractive volume phase grating. Rev. acad. colomb. cienc. exact. fis. nat. [online]. 2018, vol.42, n.163, pp.189-193. ISSN 0370-3908.  https://doi.org/10.18257/raccefyn.616.

This work analyzes the Lau effect produced by the volume phase grating generated in a photorefractive BSO crystal. In our proposal, the object phase grating is generated by projecting the image of an incoherently illuminated grating in the crystal volume. A modulation parameter that includes the effect of the crystal depth is introduced for this photorefractive phase grating. Theoretical results for different distances between object-source gratings that confirm our approach are presented.

Keywords : Lau effect; Volume grating; Photorefractive crystals.
