FONSECA-CORTES, Andrés. Two new species of Macropsychanthus (Leguminosae, Papilionoideae) from Colombia. Rev. acad. colomb. cienc. exact. fis. nat. [online]. 2021, vol.45, n.175, pp.489-499.  Epub Sep 14, 2021. ISSN 0370-3908.  https://doi.org/10.18257/raccefyn.1351.

Macropsychanthus emberarum and Macropsychanthus obscurus, two new species from the Colombian flora are described, illustrated and their morphological relationships with related species are discussed. Macropsychanthus emberarum is characterized by its membranous, oblong leaflets, with 12-14 pairs of secondary nerves, flowers 2.0-2.3 cm long, standards 1.4-1.5 x 1.4-1.5 cm, wings 1.92.2 x 1.0-1.2 cm, and keels 1.7-1.9 x 0.8-1.0 cm. Macropsychanthus obscurus is characterized by its leaflets with 13-15 pairs of secondary nerves, bicuspidate apex keels, and laterally compressed pods. Macropsychanthus emberarum is endemic to the Colombian Pacific region and Macropsychanthus obscurus to the Central and Western Andes Cordilleras.
