Abstract

CALVO-ROA, Nathaly; MUNOZ-SABA, Yaneth  and  CASALLAS-PABON, Diego. Insect-eating bats from El Tuparro (Vichada, Colombia): New revelations about their distribution. Rev. acad. colomb. cienc. exact. fis. nat. [online]. 2024, vol.48, n.187, pp.341-353.  Epub July 29, 2025. ISSN 0370-3908.  https://doi.org/10.18257/raccefyn.2611.

Reviewing several biological collections, we were able to inform of new localities and the extent of the distribution of bats from two species of the Phyllostomidae family: Glyphonycteris sylvestris and Micronycteris schmidtorum. These records involve the El Tuparro Biosphere Reserve in the department of Vichada (Colombia). We highlight the importance of detailed studies of the specimens deposited in these biodiversity libraries.

Keywords : Biological collections; Glyphonycteris sylvestris; Micronycteris schmidtorum; national natural parks.
