As part of the ongoing revision of the neotropical tree genus Matisia (Malvaceae), specifically of its sections Calyculatae and Longipedes, we describe six new species here. Four belong to the section Longipedes (M. genesiana, M. petaquillae, M. mutatana, and M. changuinolana) and the other two to the section Calyculatae (M. rufula and M. aquilarum). Three are known only from Panama and the other three are from Colombia.
