Abstract

JULIAN GIL, GASTÓN. ETHNOGRAPHY, ARCHIVES AND EXPERTS. NOTES FOR AN ANTHROPOLOGICAL STUDY OF THE RECENT PAST. Rev. colomb. antropol. [online]. 2010, vol.46, n.2, pp.249-278. ISSN 0486-6525.

A scientific approach to the recent past involves a series of relevant questions about the origins of anthropological research. The possibilities of developing a conventional fieldwork focusing on the here and now are scarce. However, researchers have a good amount of empirical evidence on whose basis they can work from an ethnographic point of view. In this case, a research project about the  constitution of the field of social sciences during the 60 and the 70 in Argentina enables us (along with the interviews) to work intensively with different archives, for example those belonging to a university and some mass media, and to analyze paradigmatic texts of the period.

Keywords : ethnography; archives; reflexivity.
