This paper presents the results of the evaluation of corporate financial performance by sector in 2009, using a comprehensive financial analysis as a technique. To do so, we took the financial information reports to Colombian Superintendencia de Sociedades from companies classified according to their economic activities in six sectors: agriculture, mining, services, industry, commerce and construction. The results obtained show agriculture as a weak sector while mining and services represent a great capability for generating future growth of national economy
