This article analyzes the Colombian economic performance in 2011 and the perspectives for 2012, it highlights the factors that are explaining the good moment of the Colombian economy in despite of the difficulties that industrialized economies has on its fiscal deficit and the growth of the public debt. In this sense, a GPD growth of 5.9% in 2011, almost two points above the growth of 2010, confirm that the national economy achieve its traditional path of potential growth quickly after the world crisis of 2007-2009. The dynamism of the domestic market and the leadership of the mining-energy sector are driving of the growth, which surely will remain although the recession of the economies from the eurozone and the slow recovery process of the United State's economy.
