Abstract

CAMELO R., Milton Samuel  and  AGUIRRE M., Briggitte Andrea. The assumptions of the National Development Plan, 2010-2014: A quantitative analysis of goals and scenarios. Perf. de Coyunt. Econ. [online]. 2011, n.18, pp.27-51. ISSN 1657-4214.

The National Development Plan defines the roadmap for policy makers in Colombia and provides a set of economic assumptions for the next four years. This paper has two objectives: first, to assess the achievement of the aims proposed in the latest plans of government in economic matters, and second, use an alternative model, built based on traditional macroeconomic theory, to the analysis of the implications of short, medium and long-term of the current National Development Plan. The results show that economic targets are ambitious given the structural conditions of the Colombian economy, so that additional stimuli are required in investment and productivity to achieve the objectives.

Keywords : National Development Plan; Investment; Economic Growth; Productivity; Macroeconomic Analysis.
