Abstract

MESA C., Ramón Javier  and  SALAZAR V., Jessica. The university-enterprise-state Alliance and the R+D processes: A look to the case of Antioquia. Perf. de Coyunt. Econ. [online]. 2012, n.19, pp.157-176. ISSN 1657-4214.

This article has some reflections about the relationships between R&D and University-Industry-state links in Colombia especially in Antioquia. In this context we analyze the importance of public-private partnerships to increase economic growth and to improve economic and social development, based on the idea that there is a positive correlation between investment in R&D, productivity and social welfare. Furthermore, the participation of universities with the private sector is important to improve innovation as a strategy to increase the competitiveness, economic growth, per capita income and reduce poverty. We show some experiences that companies in the industry have had and that have taken advantage of research projects done by universities to improve their production process. In conclusion, investing in R&D causes markets to be more diverse with a larger range of goods and services.

Keywords : external opening; University-Company-State relationship.
