Resumen

This paper pretends to make a review about the life and work of the economist Albert Hirchsman, who contributes with important advances that was the base of big developments in the social science, in especial in the economic. This review does not seek to deepen about theories and approaches presented by Mr. Hirschman, but to show, the scenario under which it developed and to certain criteria intended to abstract the reasons why this renowned economist delved in economics and managed to leave a legacy that today is a cornerstone in the study of the economy and society.
