Abstract

MORFFE P, Miguel Ángel. Opportunities and commitments for the development of social cohesion policies in the border municipalities of San José de Cúcuta (Colombia) and Bolivar (Venezuela). Perf. de Coyunt. Econ. [online]. 2014, n.23, pp.107-124. ISSN 1657-4214.

New approaches to development in Latin America point to the commitment to reduce high levels of poverty and inequality still exist in the region. The various adverse economic and social scenarios present in the border municipalities of Cúcuta (Colombia) and Bolivar (Venezuela) are a reflection of erroneous and contrary to the interests of the inhabitants of the region policies. Development opportunities present, require that plans and programs implemented for these spaces, are based on the design of more inclusive policies and social cohesion under a binational perspective that allows the solution of problems without impacting citizens.

Keywords : Development; Economic Dimension; Social Dimension; Social Cohesion Border.
