Abstract

LOSADA SIERRA, Manuel. DEATH ON THE OTHER'S FACE. rev.latinoam.bioet. [online]. 2009, vol.9, n.1, pp.94-101. ISSN 1657-4702.

This article aims to show levinasiana reflection on death and its relationship with time. The starting point is a critical dialogue with Heidegger, which, according to Lévinas, wanted to think from the time of death from the anguish of nothingness, of being so finite. Lévinas proposes an investment: think about death from time. This may done only renouncing the idea of being and, by implication, a person from scratch. The proposal is to think levinasiana positivity death from anguish and not only see the negative of it when killing the Other or let die.

Keywords : Death; grief; time; other; responsibilities.
