Abstract

CELY GALINDO, Gilberto. BIO-SECURITY: BIOETHICS KEY IN THE MANAGEMENT OFTHE BIOTECHNOLOGICAL RISK. rev.latinoam.bioet. [online]. 2009, vol.9, n.2, pp.106-115. ISSN 1657-4702.

From the dark times in which we lowered of the trees and we began the laborious human walking on the Earth, we have tried to domesticate the nature assuming, without thinking it, the risks of this intervention much. Our historical survival has been at the cost of all risk. And it will continue being thus until the end of our days, because never we will stop taking part the nature to modify it to our favor, like also our own individual and collective human nature, which tolerates risks not always foreseeable. It seems that never we are satisfied with the way like have been made outer and inner the world that has touched to us in luck. In the unconscious group, everything what is as well as is we perceived, it as a threat to our being and becomes us an obsessive challenge to transform it. When in our days we realize that we have assumed one irresponsibly addition of risks that takes to be nonviable the phenomenon of the life and the earthly house, emerges the Bioethics with proposals from changes of cultural attitudes before we step on the line of non return. The bio-security is one of the hot subjects that the Bioethics prioritizes in its agenda before biotechnological macro-risks.

Keywords : Bio-security; bioethics; biotechnology; risk; principle of precaution.
