Enough has been said and published to date, about ethical review committees. They exist to evaluate the scientific and professional; however, I consider it necessary to communicate specific aspects of this type of work. Arising from the daily practice of analyzing facts and subjective experiences of the members making. This essay is a reflection on the importance of interdisciplinarity factor. Dynamic generated between the members that interact in the process of discussion and consensus held in committees. It develops an overview of the traditional functions of the committees and delves into the richness it brings to the interdisciplinary analysis of the events covered in the discussion and giving guidance contextualized socio-cultural realities of the communities involved. The final discussion, rescues the meaning and social role that project to the ethics committee as an instance of cultural representation. Possessing this condition facilitates the achievement of the objectives of their presence and helps to resolve conflict situations from perspectives consistent with local realities.
