Abstract

CANTU-MARTINEZ, Pedro César. Purposes and Challenges of Bioethics in Public Health. rev.latinoam.bioet. [online]. 2019, vol.19, n.1, pp.63-75. ISSN 1657-4702.  https://doi.org/10.18359/rlbi.3680.

Nowadays it is pertinent to carry out reflections on the different fields of action of the human being. In this context it is appropriate to examine the interactions that cover bioethics in public health, considering their purposes and the challenges that arise from this linkage. The activities carried out in public health should be studied from a bioethics perspective according to multiple differentiated factors such as gender, culture, social order, economic aspects, among others. This analysis should be carried out taking into account human rights to promote sound institutional and social bioethics.

Keywords : bioethics; human rights; social determinants; public health; vulnerability.
