Abstract

ROZO DE AREVALO, Clara. Fundamentos pedagógicos que sustentan el proceso de la educación en salud. Aquichan [online]. 2002, vol.2, n.1, pp.27-35. ISSN 1657-5997.

According to new world trends, health means Holistic Health, considering it as a global process. The term health includes all human processes and experiences of integral development, from the conscience of its own body to an identification of personal and transcendental relations. Upon definition of health, it pretends to show its character as a social phenomena, based on a humanistic pedagogic model ground, the constructivism theory and meaningful learning. Due to the current reality of the world, where violence and dehumanization increases everyday, it is necessary to make reflection to construct a new educational health system. A new educational model, containing an integral education (social and personal) of the human being, where personal and interpersonal communication, health, harmonic body management, emotions development and creative expression, will be the basis of a new paradigm of humanistic integral education. In health, instead of the quantity of information, it is very important to know concepts and propositions of cognitive structure to manage and direct the educational action; considering the experiences and educational knowledge of persons affecting learning, taking advantage for their own benefit.

Keywords : Health education; pedagogy; constructivism; meaningful learning.
