MONTOYA TORRES, Jairo R.. Solution of international production-distribution network problem for a Colombian multinational company. Pensam. gest. [online]. 2009, n.27, pp.105-131. ISSN 1657-6276.

This paper studies the problem of supplying network design for a multinational Colombian company leader in designing, manufacturing and distributing clothes, knapsacks, backpacks, purses, briefcases and accessories, with more than 200 selling points in 15 countries. Because of the computational complexity and size of the supply network problem, this paper proposes a three-phase resolution approach based on the construction and resolution of linear programming models. Such approach is implemented using real-life data provided by the company under study, allowing the actual presentation of alternatives for an efficient and rational decision-making at the enterprise.

Keywords : Network design; supply chain management; production/distribution; linear programming; case study.
