Abstract

This paper seeks to trace the link between regional development and collective action through the analysis of social capital generated in the department of Cauca, after the 90s. Hence, the work address to discuss at first instance, the theoretical and methodological derived from neo-institutionalist theory, once its application in situ, related to the degree of dependence on the history and social movements of the period, then measurements its body, then analyze the effects on trust and cooperative action given the institutional promotion of individualism and efficiency technoproductive. Finally it was concluded, making distinctions between what represents the collective mobilization against the extensive social capital as scales of social cohesion and the future development of the region.
