In the Age of Knowledge, Knowledge Management (KM) has become a valuable asset for companies and individuals, so that it corresponds to a process of creation, generation, use, dissemination, transmission and sharing of knowledge that the cycle based on Nonaka and Takeuchi, can be studied in the characterization and measurement of the development of KM in 76 research groups from Universidad Pedagogica y Tecnologica de Colombia (UPTC), likewise presents a statistical modeling that concluded with a mathematical equation of the linear regression. With relevance to the methodology, the type of study corresponded to descriptive statistical treatment was the principal component factor analysis that showed how the method of recruitment and the number of members of the group affect the dependent variable research productivity.
