This article explores the relation between the main distinguishing features of the entrepreneurs and the incidence in business sustainability. Ten cases of entrepreneurs of Ibagué have been analyzed for which two approaches were used: a qualitative analysis supported in structured interviews to businessmen and a quantitative one supported in the results of the survey to employees and customers. The research was developed by the GIMN and GIDEUT research groups of the Universidad del Tolima and funded by the same institution. The most significant features of entrepreneurs which have enabled them to position the companies in the region are: level of training, leadership exerted, love for their job, investment in infrastructure and employees and customer.
