Abstract
DURAN-ROMERO, Danid Esther; LECHUGA-CARDOZO, Jorge Isaac; GUISAO-GIRALDO, Erica Yaneth and LEYVA-CORDERO, Oswaldo. Management of the security of the logistics service providing companies in Colombia. Pensam. gest. [online]. 2020, n.48, pp.12-37. Epub May 10, 2021. ISSN 1657-6276.
The aim of this article is to show evidence of the state of Security Management in Logistics Operators in Colombia, in the adoption of the ISO 28000 Standard and its certification. A quantitative study of analytical, descriptive, non-experimental, transectional and field type was defined. An instrument was designed and applied to a sample of 13 logistics service providers. This questionnaire presents 9 items for the variable knowledge of security management initiatives, and 10 items for the security problem. Thus, it was evidenced that: 1. logistic operators recognize as security risks, the theft, piracy and contraband; 2. 77% of the companies surveyed have a notion of ISO 28000; 3. The total number of respondents is certified in the BASC Standard, but only 43% certified in ISO 28000, and 4. the operators point out that the involvement with suppliers and the cultural change in the organization are obstacles to the implementation of ISO 28000. It is concluded that the Colombian logistics operators should observe as an opportunity to improve the implementation of ISO 28000 and other initiatives such as OEA (Authorized Economic Operator) due to the commercial opening the country is experiencing and therefore the requirement of international clients to count with certified suppliers in the integral management of security in the supply chain.
