This article presents the results of the analysis carried out with the aim of constituting a conceptual support for the development of a master's degree work in design management. The purpose of the study was to diagnose the design situation in a cluster in the fashion sector in the city of Bogotá, Colombia, and to formulate a strategic proposal to strengthen the cluster through design. Therefore, the documentary exploration focused on the search for studies and reflections that address the issues of design management, knowledge management in companies and clusters and the challenges of management in the fashion sector. The approaches of the selected documents on the topics of interest were contrasted in order to recognize the divergences and coincidences in the approach that the various authors made to the topics analyzed. Comparisson allowed identifying and highlighting the coincidences and methodological implications that these approaches represent for the possibilities of innovation in creative and cultural enterprises. Finally, it challenged of considering design management as a process of knowledge management to increase the possibilities of innovation of companies in the fashion sector, using a model of dynamic capabilities of organizations.
