Abstract

RODRIGUEZ VALENCIA, Lina María. Coffee Women and Changes in their Traditional Role. Soc. Econ. [online]. 2013, n.24, pp.71-93. ISSN 1657-6357.

This paper presents the major changes ocurred in the traditional role of some women, owners of coffee farms, in the municipalities of Calarcá, Montenegro and Sevilla (Colombia), between 1970 and 2011, highlighting the impact of family planning methods on female transformations. The analysis addresses the institutional actions developed by the Federación Nacional de Cafeteros and Profamilia as explanatory elements of the identified changes. It is a descriptive study with a historical perspective that took a regional approach methodology to examine overall changes in family and women.
