Abstract

MOLANO-SANABRIA, Karen Dayana; BARRERA-ROJAS, Angy Giseidy  and  PEDRAZA-BERNAL, Adriana María. Disease Rate of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus /Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome in the Boyacá Province, 2015-2016. Rev. Gerenc. Polit. Salud [online]. 2018, vol.17, n.35, pp.132-141. ISSN 1657-7027.  https://doi.org/10.11144/javeriana.rgps17-35.cevi.

The disease rate for the Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome was determined in the Boyacá province during 2015-2016. It was an ecological exploratory descriptive study including morbidity and mortality data with which the mortality rate was estimated. Regarding the estimation of leave-adjusted life year losses, the analysis used the tools for disease global rate provided by the World Health Organization. It was found that the total population with this condition, 74.9% were men and 25.1% were women. Mortality rate per 100,000 inhabitants was 0.5 in 2015 and 1.4 in 2016 and 169 life years were lost in total due to this condition. The disease rate brought about by this condition during 2015 and 2016 is mainly derived from the life years lost due to premature deaths, especially among men.

Keywords : prevalence; epidemiology; disease global rate; life year losses due to leaves; premature mortality.
