Abstract

QUINTERO-JURADO, Jéssica Marcela  and  MARIN-CORTES, Andrés Felipe. Colombia’s Peace Process and Post-Agreement: trust Expressions via Twitter. Ágora U.S.B. [online]. 2018, vol.18, n.2, pp.348-361. ISSN 1657-8031.  https://doi.org/10.21500/16578031.3229.

This article discusses the expectations facing the post-agreement, in the expressions of trust and lack of confidence, on the peace process between the Colombian government and the FARC-EP, on social networking site Twitter. An analysis of qualitative content of 642 tweets was made. The findings indicate that participants perceive polarized actors, as being winners and losers at the end of the negotiations. On the one hand, expectations of hope are recognized, and on the other hand, the perception of lack of guarantees so that the agreement can be fulfilled. The post-agreement, is also conceived as a process of collective construction of peace, transformation, and change.
