This article analyzes the main features of the electoral system created by the Political Constitution of Colombia (1991) and the reforms of 2003, 2009, and 2015. Initially, it describes the effects of the electoral regime provided by the Political Constitution and its reforms on the dispersion of parties in the Congress of the Republic during the legislative elections from 1994 to 2022.
