CORTES-BOUSSAC, Andrea. Oblivion of being: man's sense-nonsense in dimensions of technology. Civilizar [online]. 2008, vol.8, n.14, pp.153-162. ISSN 1657-8953.

In the twenty-first century the phenomenon of the modern technology is presented in the new technologies. It is arguable that the networks of new technologies have caught the man in a sense-nonsense. The sense is the instrument of the technology, which increases excessively, unleashing, simultaneously, the non-sense of man. The German thinker Martin Heidegger reflects on this phenomenon, interpreting this non-sense as Seinsvergessenheit (oblivion of being), also as a reduction of the pre-Socratic logos as ratio. The purpose is to show this current non-sense as oblivion of the human being, of the man himself. It will be explained how the modern technology not only tries to make Nature an instrument but the human nature and the reason as well, as the logos has been reduced to "instrumental reason", updating the term to "technical reason."

Palavras-chave : Technology; human being; man; new technologies; world; networks; dualism; sense; non-sense; mass media; globalization.
