With his theory of Complex Systems, Rolando García establishes a theoretical-methodological approach for the interdisciplinary investigation of complex systems, based on the constructivist epistemology of Jean Piaget. The objective of this article is to analyze three concepts that underlie this theory: complexity, interdiscipline and politics. The plot strategy is organized in two stages: the first examines the relationship between complexity and interdisciplinarity, and the three conceptions of complexity that this link throws (as a methodological concept, as an organizational concept and as an evolutionary concept). In the second story stage, the political dimension is particularly explored; also, the practical purposes of the approach proposed by García and the implications of the concept of epistemic framework.
