Resumen

FLORES, Carlos; ARRIAGA, Pedro  y  ORTIZ, René. Contribution of differential intertrial intervals in delayed matching to sample task. Univ. Psychol. [online]. 2006, vol.5, n.1, pp.139-146. ISSN 1657-9267.

The effects of the differential correlation of different values of the intertrial interval with the sample stimulus on the response rate and the discrimination index in a delayed matching to sample task were evaluated. For a group with response-dependent reinforcement and for another group with response-independent reinforcement different values of the intertrial interval were used (30 and 5s), for other two groups the same value of the intertrial interval (17.5s) was used. In further phases the interval between the sample and the comparisons (delay) was increased (2,4,8,16s). The Intertrial interval-sample stimulus correlations generated different response rates. The discrimination index was an inverse relation of the delay duration, there was a more gradual decrement in the discrimination index in the groups with the differential correlation of the intertrial interval. The results are discussed in the sense that differential rate of responding is not specific to differential outcomes procedures.
