^len^aAn historical analysis about the evolution of health psychology in Colombia is made, taking as starting point some investigations carried out in the field of the behavioral medicine in the decade of the 70’s, and concluding with the description of 25 investigation groups that right now exist in many universities of the country, which carry out research activities in psychology and health. It is underlined that the development of this investigation field and practice in psychology have been bound more to the academic world than to that of the public health. An analysis approach is the practice area in health psychology, taking the fields of clinical health psychology and social health psychology. In the first one the interest is stood out mainly in related topics with evaluation and intervention in situations of chronic illness; in the second the interest is stood out in the topics of prevention of the illnesses and of health promotion .A description of the thematics that generated a genuine interest of collaboration among the different groups, and of the high-priority necessities that their members propose to advance at the moment in this work line are done.^les^aSe hace un análisis histórico acerca de la evolución de la psicología de la salud en Colombia, tomando como punto de partida algunas investigaciones realizadas en el campo de la medicina conductual en la década de los años 70 y finalizando con la descripción de 25 grupos de investigación que existen actualmente en las diversas universidades del país, los cuales realizan actividades de investigación en psicología y salud. Se subraya que el desarrollo de este campo de investigación y práctica en psicología ha estado más ligado al mundo académico que al de la salud pública. Un criterio de análisis es el área de práctica en psicología de la salud, diferenciando entre psicología clínica de la salud y psicología social de la salud. En el primero se resalta el interés en temas relacionados principalmente con evaluación e intervención en situaciones de enfermedad crónica; en el segundo se resalta el interés en los temas de prevención de las enfermedades y de promoción de la salud. Se hace específicamente una descripción de las temáticas particulares en las que hay interés actual de colaboración entre los diferentes grupos, y de las necesidades prioritarias que sus integrantes proponen para avanzar en esta línea de trabajo actualmente.
