Abstract

GOMEZ, INGRID CAROLINA. OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH: A REVIEW TROUGHT THE NEW WORKING CONDITIONS. Univ. Psychol. [online]. 2007, vol.6, n.1, pp.105-114. ISSN 1657-9267.

New work realities are considered -globalization and interdependency of enterprises; employment flexibilization and job intensification; technological innovation; outsourcing process; actual changes between workers at a demographic level; incorporation of women into the remunerate work world; enterprise disappearance and fusion-, and so. The relation between health and work are discussed into these new work facts. Even though classic labour risks still persist, the concepts of psychosocial risk factors and occupational stress due to the new work organization forms become stronger. Health problems related to work can be prevented, considering that its determinants belong to work conditions. In this way, organizational psychologist becomes important in the health promotion programs within the work organizational environment.

Keywords : occupational health psychology; work-health relation; workplace health promotion.
