Abstract

VIEIRA ZANELLA, ANDRÉA. AESTHETIC EDUCATION AND CREATIVITY: TOOLS FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT. Univ. Psychol. [online]. 2007, vol.6, n.3, pp.483-492. ISSN 1657-9267.

This study intends to be a reflection on the importance of aesthetic education for the development of human beings and to show ways in which it can be acquired. These reflections result from aesthetic workshops, which were filmed and analyzed. Aesthetic education is understood as education processes aiming to contribute to the (re)creation of existence, both individually and collectively. The indicators for this educational proposal are: problematization of stereotyped forms typical of everyday life that blind us to the possibility of differences; the invitation to experience other ways of perceiving and of expressing oneself creatively; destabilization of security in the perception of the individual.

Keywords : aesthetic education; creativity; human development; creative ability; aesthetic education; art education.
