Abstract

NAVARRO-NEWBALL, Hernando. Laparoscopic hysterectomy : systematizing of the procedure and proposal for training programs. Colomb. Med. [online]. 2005, vol.36, n.2, pp.115-119. ISSN 1657-9534.

STUDY OBJECTIVE: To standardize the approach of the hysterectomy through laparoscopy, according to the analysis of the techniques and experiences for reducing the training curve in laparoscopy teaching programs. DESIGN: Description of experience with surgical procedure. INTERVENTIONS: Total hysterectomy through laparoscopy IV-E (AAGL classification). RESULTS: In no patient out of the 96 subjected to hysterectomy through laparoscopy major complication appeared; the surgical time was 72 minutes mean, the average uterine weight was 190 gm., the mean hospitalization time and time for rejoining to work, social and familiar activities was 8 days. The most common indications were adenomyosis and myomatosis. CONCLUSION: The systematization of the hysterectomy through laparoscopy procedure allows fast learning and the use of the relevant technology. Increases the possibility to be used as a first option when having the abdominal approach, with great advantages in the patient’s recovery compared to the hysterectomy through laparotomy.
