Cannabis sativa L. preparations, such as marijuana, hashish and dagga, have been used in medicine for many centuries. It is now known that Δ⁹tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ⁹-THC) and its related compounds, exert a wide array of effects on the immune, digestive, reproductive, ocular, cardiovascular, and central nervous systems. The present review analyses the literature related to the therapeutic effects of Cannabis.
