Abstract

CASTELLANOS-CONTRERAS, José Ulises; FORERO-NUNEZ, Carlos Andrés  and  SIERRA-VARGAS, Fabio Emiro. Basic and detailed engineering for instrumentation of a fixed bed gasification prototype plant. Iteckne [online]. 2015, vol.12, n.2, pp.146-155. ISSN 1692-1798.

The Gasification systems require an analysis when selecting instrumentation (temperature, flow, weight, valves, motors, etc.) cost of maintenance and calibration, installation diagrams, control systems and easy handling; necessitating a basic and detail engineering. Herein one analysis instrumentation and an application of a nonlinear control system prototype in the fixed bed gasification plant are outlined. Selecting industrial instrumentation was based on the position of the sensors, actuators, in the cleaning treatment of some variables in the linearization around the operating point in the conditioning and signal processing; only validates the experimental part we instrumentation, although external factors affecting the gasification process (weather conditions, operating times, maintenance times, etc.) which makes continuous monitoring wasteful.

Keywords : Calibration; instrumentation; gasification; sensor; variable.
