When analyzing persuasive potentialities of the 2000 Mexican presidential campaign tv-spot, the purpose of this paper is to know how and in what way audiovisual/written/visual indexes of this type of ''texts'' guide mental operations of social agents' semantic construction. Focusing indexes of audiovisual messages as cognitive sub-determinations, this article describes some persuasion strategies. This constitutes the central object of this article: advancing some observations on those ''Attack Sequences'' which, making part of the collective memory have guided the political direction of our country.
