Abstract

JEMIO ARNEZ, Kathya. THE METAPHOR, CULTURAL ANALYSIS AND PRESS: REJECTION TO ''LA AMIGA''. anagramas rumbos sentidos comun. [online]. 2010, vol.8, n.16, pp.87-103. ISSN 1692-2522.

The metaphor theory, prepared by cognitive linguistics, considers that it comes from conceptual, cultural, and experience representations. So presented, it translates our beliefs, feelings, values, and concepts constituting our individual and collective point of view; its essence is understanding and experimenting one thing in terms of another thing; it is a vehicle for understanding and helping the construction of reality by means of implications; it highlights and makes certain aspects of experience coherent. Cognitive theories about categories contribute to the research and integrate the essential categorical attributes.

Keywords : metaphor; conceptual categorization; cognitive linguistics; cultural analysis.
